Hi all,

In my search of sinking pellets to feed very sparingly I've come across some options and was wondering if I should mix and match (feed one of them this month and maybe a different choice next month) or stick to one...

Whichever one of these I do feed I will only feed a small amount (size of a pen ball point)

Hi! Any food is fine as long as you do not overfeed and follow the instructions detailed on this website. I would just recommend fish food pellets, which type doesn't matter. Just feed the same pellet every 3-8 weeks. Done. These shrimp are incredibly good at utilizing nutrients so you don't need to worry about giving them diverse foods. Spirulina powder is too messy and it floats on the surface, which is not where the shrimp naturally graze. Plus it gets into the substrate eventually where the shrimp cannot reach it. Keep in mind that the main food of the shrimp is the biofilm that grows in the tank. They eat that every day. The pellets are just a "snack" plus they serve as a long term fertilizer for the biofilm.
