Algae?
A small film has formed across the top of my tank. It doesn’t have much of a color though. Is it algae??

Biofilm! And also sometimes in tank walls , before mine so dirty with cloudy white and a lil green spots now all clear glass

It’s biofilm. Your tank is most likely ready for the shrimps if you don’t already have them. That’s how my tank was when I introduced them. It’ll eventually get eaten and cleared up. I have two tanks both without the visible signs of algae. But those guys are eating the microorganisms and they’re pretty bright red now.
