Yeah, even though I didn't get any new pictures of undescribed shrimp or anything, it was still very helpful to hear someones experience first hand of the shrimp hobby in Shanghai China right now.

So get cranking on these shrimp and build up that population! We need to work on establishing pretty much every shrimp species that gets imported in the hobby as you never when they will get imported again or if they will even survive in nature. Many of these species are rare in their biotopes to begin with. And once you have enough you can exchange with hobbyists across the atlantic. This would be a great shrimp to add to the hobby.

Just a quick update.

Since I've been paying a bit more care and attention to these over the last couple of months they have been producing eggs like mad. The trouble is, as yet no new shrimps have appeared in the tank, despite changing the box filter to a sponge one.

The only difference between this and my other shrimp tanks is that its rather infested with various snails. I'm wondering if these are clearing up too much of the available food. The water is better than its ever been.

I'm particularly keen to get them going because the one and only neon green female (bright green eyes) has just got a bright green saddle.
