Hi all,
finally my RCS planted tank is born and after the cycle was finished I introduced my first 10 RCS and about 10 Malaysian Trumpet Snails.
pH is 7.8, KH 5, temperature 26'C.
Shrimps are between 1 and 1.5cm long (very young). I am not sure can they breed while they are still small???
They are very active and are picking stuff on rocks and plants.
I fed a small peace of HIKARI algae wafer today just to make sure that they got their first meal in this aquarium of mine. I will feed them twice a week with a small peace of HIKARI Algae wafer + blanched cucumber.
They will have 4 days to feed on microorganisms and algae.
If you have any other suggestions, please post a reply.

Kind regards, Dusko.

Yes it is a filter. Many aquarists advice not to use that huge BOX filter because it is very unsightly.
Well I proved them wrong. It is very "out-of-sightly"
Buy placing Java fern in front of it, it is almost totally invincible.
But first I buried the box filter into the gravel.
Here you can see closely what I did ;

Thanks for the info Neonshrimp. Hope to see some egg carrying soon

Hi YuccaPatrol,I like the fully framed tank. Haven't seen one like that in quite a while.
here in Sweden it is very common for people to make this kind of DIY aquarium. They are very cheep. This 11 gallons cost me 15 euros approx 20$. My plan is to go more into shrimp and crayfish breeding. I will try to rent out a room with another fish-breeder for breeding purposes. Those tanks are at hand for low cost. But this project could take a while.

Hi all,
it is a time for a little up date
After some time of stress, having females releasing their eggs after just 2 days, my shrimp population seem to be growing now.
I believe that young females do release their first eggs immediately (photo above) but the second batch is successfully raised.
You can see on this second photo one of my baby shrimps feeding on the filter beside the mature shrimp. I can count around 30 shrimplets at the moment (there are probably more but hard to spot them).

The tank is maturing nicely too as you can compare in the next two photos;

Kind regards, Dusko.

Hi Neonshrimp
thanks for your comments.
I just noticed that we entered petshrimp at the same time (approx) and look at you now a Shrimp Master and I am still an undeveloped larva maybe I need kind of brackish condition
I am getting ready for setting up six, 10 gallon, tanks for shrimp breeding.
I already established one small 15 liters to help me out when my RCS population out grows the current 11 gallon.
Pic of the 15 liters tank;
