Berries!

Post by SSpiffyShrimp »

I haven't posted recently, things have been quiet on the shrimp front.

But at least two of my shrimp are berried now. I'm going to be a grandpa!

Congratulations on your berried shrimp! They must be happy shrimp or they would not reproduce as they have. Also, that macro algae has really grown!

Thanks! I plan on starting another tank for my office, so I'll cut that macro algae in half and use it to jump start the new tank.

How Long did it take for your macro algae to get that large?

It was put in the tank in mid-January.

And news! The population in the tank has more than doubled with both berried moms having had their hatch. Lots of little, tiny babies! If I can manage any decent photos, I'll post them.

Wow that is a lot of eggs! I wonder what the clutch size (that's not the right term for shrimp is it?) is a function of. I've seen such wide variation from just 4 up to almost 30.

So where are the photos? ;)

Also..Oople...it can vary...30 is kinda unusual but 8-15 is probably about average.
