I really like AC filters in general. I prefer to use them, on my shrimp tank I simply put a piece of filter foam over the insert like some others in this thread do :). It works well for me.

You could also use pantyhose! Works great and you don't have a big foam block lol.

thanks for that I was thinking reef flat worms simply and not the broader picture. However the OP says they aren't planaria =/. Hmmz lol

Are you sure you have flat worms 0_o. It sounds like you have planaria and some harmless nematodes feeding off excess food/nutrients.

Flatworms are salt water creatures. I don't doubt that there are freshwater ones but I've never heard of 'em. Any chance for a linky? I wouldn't think a saltwater ...

Errr ick is ALWAYS in our system, sometimes it's dormant of course. Usually fish have a strong enough slime coat to fight it off but not always...QT and treatment is always the best method.

Heat doesn't kill ick, it speeds up their life cycle making them fall of the fish faster. When they aren't on ...

I feed culls to my puffers....many other fish will probably eat them too.

Only use aged water(1 week+)or tank water for your daphnia. They are very sensitive to metals.

Use some yeast in that food mixture. Or suppliment with some Kents Microinvert .

Good luck, Dapnia/water fleas are good food. You'll see them colour up with the baby food stuff
