panacur is fenbendazol - there are reports of fenbendazol as a suspension causing gill damage and subsequent loss of fish, not well scientifically proven

Dont know the specific brands
and am confident saying they should be cheaper... they are effectively just the pods/filters that are in the r/o system prior to the r/o membrane

white muscle disease in mamaliansystems can be associated with selenium deficency

that (in my mind obvious link- someone said white muscle) made me think about possible nutritional aspects

i have a few good medical books, the author's have listed all products by certain companies and what they use in their products

not exactly certain what you are calling diatoms
to me they are unicellular algae, so absolutely fine for botht the shrimp and oto's to eat, infact i am sure some of the members here are activey trying t grow green water for planktonic shrimp raising

calcium chloride baking soda and epsom salts are all useful as alkalinty/hardness additives

all can be relatively easily sourced in pure forms and just need som web reading and practice to get used to

note practice is for empty water containers not ones with shrimp in

any fine grain silica sand is suitable
it is usually rounded and feels soft to touch

why do you want to?
get the thermostat to stay turned on, dodgy old heaters often stick in the on postion, not nice if you dont want it

just add boiling water
