Any new updates on this plant? I'm still hoping to get my hands on some one of these days.

I'm new to owning Opae Ula, but have been researching them for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger and got my first tank set up. I got a 1.25 gallon glass jar, some purple barnacle shells, a timed full spectrum aquarium light, and a heater.

I got 25 shrimp and 10 MTS, and so far I'm on day 4 ...

Very cool! Where did you manage to get those from?

Will barnacle shells be enough to do the job, or should I get some other coral? I've already got some beautiful black sand that I'm going to use, so I don't want to have to buy aragonite, and I'd really rather not be throwing ground up eggshells in there.
