I'll start by explaining the history of this situation then you will understand my dilemma. About 1 year ago (or more), I got hooked on shrimp they seemed such interesting creatures, so I thought I would set up a tank to have a breeding colony of red cherry shrimp. The tank was 36"x12"x15 ...

The tank is approx. 30 gallons (36"x12"x15").

EDIT: I'm in the UK, its winter over here, I don't know the temperature where you all are but its not exactly warm.

A situation has come up, where due to building works I have to move my shrimp tank. I will be moving it to another room in the house, where it will probably remain there.

I thought I would post here to see if anyone has done this before or could offer tips on how to do this the best way ...

Might be abit off topic, but did you get the shrimp as adults or babies?

I have never seen any type of shrimp near me, I had to get mine off ebay.

I have had saddled shrimp, for what must be 2 months now, I always see the yellow saddle on my 3 female RCS, however never see them berried (carrying the eggs) and when looking around the tank see bundles of eggs occasionally. However 2 days ago, I saw a baby ...

Never thought she still might have eggs...I hope she does, it will be my first ever success at breeding shrimps.

I finally found somewhere that sells red cherry shrimp, so I bought 10. I have had them for about 1 month or so. I think I have been unlucky with the male:female ratio, I think I have only got 2-3 females.

However to my problem, recently my biggest and redest shrimp's saddle became really noticable ...

In responce to your plant question, I plan to have some Java Moss (saw some on eBay attached to bamboo, thought a couple of these stuck out at angles would look nice.
Any other plants you would recommend?
