3. They do require lighting, the plants enough to grow. Lighting will also display your shrimp better.

I got 6 of these about 3-4 years ago. Since then they've been very happy in the bottom of my 60 liter tank. Unlike the bumblebee I kept earlier these reproduce easily and in big numbers. I suspect that there's at least 30 of them at any time. Occasionally I give some of them away. Did some searching ...

Well, soon after my last post I found one of the first batch of beeshrimp had died.
I just back from vacation and when I fed 'm a bit of carrot as a treat this morning I noticed I know have not 3 but 4 adolescent sized shrimp marching around the tank! So I started out with 10 and should have 13 now ...

Breeding. I counted 3 young just yesterday. <Community tank does make for a lot of competition for the young though.

Space is very much an issue. Find a good method to remove berried females from the tank is another issue.

My ph is about 7.5 and I almost alwaays have some berried female beeshrimp in my tank.

I got a plastic 10 liter tank. Just discovered a local shop that has tiny filters for next to nothing. I'm tempted to try and built a small breeding tank if I can find the space to put it.

See if it has center or spot metering. Your camera exposes the surroundings nicely but keeps the shrimp too dark.

My son spotted two more today. After some careful observation we spotted three young in total. Two somewhat smaller ones. Indicates to me survivors from at least two pregnancies.

If they are bigger and you need help on the ident a picture would help.

Yeah, he/she does look like his mother. I'm already proud enough that something has survived in that tank.

Spotted the first small fry in my community tank. Seems the lack of pruning of the bottom plants has helped.

I'd say go for it. Shrimps are tricky enough that you could easily blow a 36 exposure roll and only get 2 halfway decent pics.

I would keep that N75, it's a very nice film body and perhaps someday you'll have the cash to pick up a used D50.
