Re: ro water purchase vs buying a filter
yea I am leaning toward buying 5 gallons. The grocerie store next to me sells ro water and it is only 1.75 for 5 gallons. It is not out of the way, it is just a lot of lifting but I'll give it a try. if it becomes too much of a hassel I will just buy the filter system.

Re: ro water purchase vs buying a filter
what I am doing is setting up a tank for crs. They need filtered water so i was thinking about a ro filter but I am seriously taking all the wonderful advice everyone is giving me. This is the only tank that is going to need the water and it is a 20 gallon.

Re: snail recommendations
In a small tank of mine they became a bit of a problem. Because they breed so fast, they quickly outnumbered my shrimp. What it meant was that when I dropped in crab cuisine pellets, often they would just gauged on by a ton of snails before the shrimp even realised the food was there. A lot of the ...

ro water purchase vs buying a filter
I am looking at buying a ro di filter the setup will run around 250.00. I can buy ro water from the pet store or use gallon ro water in my tanks but that is a lot of lugging water around. Any advice from the shrimp keeper pros?

Hi I just got this guy today and he is really cute but he grabbed 2 guppies already so I had to move him to a tank of his own. Does anyone know what kind of crayfish he is? Re: Sick RCS?! Help!
looks like from the info you provided either the nitrate and nitrite is high. 4 test but only 3 numbers. I would do a 10 percent water change with declorinate water that has sat for 1 day so temp is the same as your tank. drip the water in to not disturbe the shrimp and cause more stress.
